PLEASANT RIDGE CEMETERY

Copied by Hiram E. Beats, October 14, 1922.

This was the site of the "Amwell First Presbyterian Church," now located at Heaville, which was organized before 1737. It is in Raritan Township, on the "Old York Road" which followed a still older Indian path across the state, half way between Ringoes and Reaville. The ground now occupied by the cemetery was taken over by "The Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Association," incorporated Dec. 17, 1912. (Vol. 2, page 88). Much interesting comment on families connected with the church will be found in Rev. John B. Kugler's "The First English Presbyterian Church in Amwell."
